报告人:Housheng Hansen He
Prof. He received his B.S. degree in 2003 from Beijing Normal University and Ph.D. degree in 2008 from Institute of Biophysics of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He then worked as a research fellow in the field of cancer genomics and epigenomics at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In 2011, He became an instructor at Harvard Medical School. He is currently an associate professor at University of Toronto and a senior scientist at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre/University Health Network. His research focuses on the interplay between epigenetic regulator and noncoding RNA. He has published more than 50 high-impact SCI papers, such as Nature, Cell, Nature Genetics, Nature Methods. His excellence was recognized through a series of awards including the Rising Start Award and K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award.

摘要:Prostate cancer is one of the most heritable diseases to date. Hundreds of SNPs have been identified by genome-wide association studies (GWAS) to confer risk of prostate cancer in men. Most prostate cancer associated risk SNPs do not directly alter gene codons, rather modulate cis-regulatory elements (CREs) such as enhancers. However, the underlying regulatory mechanisms remain largely unknown. In this lecture, Prof. He will share some thoughts about the strategies for systematic functional analysis of CREs and then talk in detail about the research results that have been discovered by the Prof. He lab.
