Research Area

Taking advantage of the extensive technical amenability of the fission yeast schizosaccharomyces pombe, our research group employs multi-disciplinary approaches, such as genetics , cell biology and molecular biology, to dissect the detailed mechanisms how the positive and negative regulators control faithful chromosome segregation, cell polar growth and heterochromatin formation in eukaryotes.
Major interests of our ongoing research focus on: (1) the molecular mechanisms coordinating timely spindle assembly checkpoint (SAC) silencing with chromosome segregation fidelity at anaphase; (2) the molecular mechanisms coordinating cell cycle with cell polar growth; (3) the molecular mechanisms involved in the epigenetic regulation of heterochromatin formation.
